I think I'm closing in on the end of Future Connected. I should probably be able to finish it at some point today, and then my Xenoblade experience will come to an end.

Dragon Ball Episode 139 complete!

Yamcha loses as expected, but it seems like he might have an excuse this time. I'll be curious to see how the next match goes there.

And Goku/Tien is pretty great so far.

This is his first real fight, so it's hard to have an opinion on him up to this point!

Goku/Tien feels like the real shift from Dragonball to Dragonball Z, even though the actual cutoff isnt until after this arc.

Whew, Future Connected beated, which means my time with Xenoblade Chronicles has come to an end. Future Connected became pretty decent by the end, so I enjoyed it. The Quiet Times made it really worthwhile.

As for the overall package is concerned, I'd say I'd rank it as a top 50 game easily. Not sure how much higher I'd go than that, but it's certainly not GOTY 2012 (still Mass Effect 3)! Maybe 2010 and 2011 because I can't remember what games came out in those years.

I'd say Xenoblade's biggest strength is the world itself. I don't want to say the worldbuilding is unparalleled or unrivaled because I don't quite think that to be the case, but it's easily up near the top of anything I've played. Just exploring the Bionis and the Mechonis was a joy. I wanted to see and find everything, and I still didn't manage it!

The cast of characters was really good, too. I think I'd go Dunban > Shulk > Melia > Reyn > Fiora > Sharla > Riki, but they're all likable. Dunban definitely became an all-time favorite for me. He always had the right thing to say in the biggest moments, and the dude literally became a master swordsman with his off hand. That's really all you need to say about him! Shulk was a good lead, too. I enjoyed following his growth as a leader and experiencing the world through his eyes as his perspective changed. Melia is just great, but I don't appreciate how they pulled the rug out from under me by making her a false romantic lead!

The battle system was serviceable. It was easy to get into a rhythm once I knew what I was doing, and beating a big monster was always pretty satisfying. All the fighting and questing got a bit repetitive by the end, so I'm definitely done with Xenoblade for a while. I'm sure I'll play Xenoblade 2 at some point, but I doubt it'll be anytime soon!

The gacha stuff is definitely the worst part of Xenoblade 2!

There's a lot of stuff I dislike about XB2, honestly, but I still overall like the game a lot. Funny how that works sometimes.

Having just come from 3D Crossbell I still kinda laugh that rather than add the Administrative District to make CS3's Crossbell contiguous they just went "nah screw this" and had the area transition go "want to skip through it to go to the Harbor/Central Street?"

to say nothing of the other half of the districts they just plain didn't include

Haha, fantasy names can definitely be tricky. I doubt you could get a name like "Nynaeve" from the audio version (though the pronunciations are tricky too, so you have an advantage in that respect).
