Attorneys for former Dallas police officer Amber Guyger have filed an appeal, requesting she be acquitted of murder charges after fatally shooting Botham Jean nearly two years ago. https://abcnews.go.com/amp/US/amber-guyger-attorneys-file-appeal-botham-jean-murder/story?id=72257638 Fuck that bitch. Does she want another hug from the judge or something? --- "Average Joe" is a trolling term since it's completely an opinion. "Overachieving" is also an opinion. - SBAllen (Hellhole: 52458377) ... This isn't a story. The response to it is the news. In what reality do you live in where she patiently waits in prison living out her sentence and doesn't attempt to get out early?

I mean I would too if I were in that situation. Hope she fails tho, there is no explanation that justifies her murdering a man in his own home

OK, I saw this topic a few days ago, decided to say nothing. Now I think I will.
Amber Guyger isn't the one filing her appeals, her attorneys are. She's allowed a certain amount of appeals on certain levels. These go for ANYONE that is sentenced to a crime. It's not like Amber is sitting there in her cell with this plan to file for an appeal and get out. It's not like that. These appeals are being filed on her behalf. This is done for anyone and everyone and by NOT doing it for Guyger, it would be discrimination. Now, Guyger has the RIGHT to decline to use these appeals that are GIVEN TO HER BECAUSE OF OUR CONSTITUTIONAL RIGHTS, not because of any favor to her in any way. Now if she chooses to use these appeals and accepts an earlier release date, that's because of her lawyers and not so much because she's doing it. --- Y helo thar buttsecks ... Copied to Clipboard!

@weekoldhotdog
Question, if she loses the appeal, will it affect the original sentencing? --- "Average Joe" is a trolling term since it's completely an opinion. "Overachieving" is also an opinion. - SBAllen (Hellhole: 52458377) ... Copied to Clipboard!

@weekoldhotdog Not at all, she's still got her, what? 4 years to serve? Anyways, the attorneys will likely keep periodically pushing an appeal through either focused on evidence (seen or not seen) from the past or any new evidence that may impact the original trial, had it been admitted at the time. Nothing will get her a new trial unless new evidence that can exonerate her comes to light. But you know, she'll get out early for good behavior, right? And Covid, which could also cut her time by a lot. All of this is against her "will", and doesn't change any remorse she might have felt or any feelings she had when she was handed down her sentence. @St0rmFury --- Y helo thar buttsecks ...
