I don't know if I mentioned this before but I had an opportunity to work with the people at dexcom. Very competent group of people and the security around the G5 and G6 was very well done. Read their internal documentation on how the pairing works and they do multiple ECDSA key exchanges during the pairing process.

their apps could be better though. and they need to let more than very specific phones use it

there's ways around that on android of course, but

This is an FDA limitation btw. Not much they can do about it right now until there are more apps on the market and the FDA has more trust in medical device companies to not screw up.
Also keep in mind they're most likely still harvesting your data and selling it to doctors (maybe even to your doctor). I know that the company I was working for at the time was planning to do as much once their app was released.

i mean, i don't actually mind that in this scenario, but they aren't selling it to my doctor in general, since it just directly is connected to her so she can see my info at any time

also, you can just customize the app on android and edit and remove whatever telemetry things you want. i think there's even a few options for it in the well-known customizer out there

yes and no.

early on, if you catch it early enough, you can take steps to reverse it and eventually, not have diabetes. you'll be more at risk than someone who doesn't have it, however, so you always do have to pay attention.

however, if you don't notice it, or ignore the symptoms, you will fully get type 2, and at that point, there is no reversing it, your pancreas is damaged and irreparable. the only thing you can do at that point is just manage it. and you can manage it to a point where it might as well not be there, but it does not go away.

My understanding is that type 2 is just an accumulation of fat around the pancreas. Hence why visceral fat is bad. But if you can get rid of it then you will essentially be cured. This can be seen in the English study where patients drank 3 shakes a day, totaling less than 600 calories(if I remember correctly) for 3 months. At the end of the 3 months, they were all cured of the condition.

Also, this can be seen/replicated in folks that get that operation that makes your stomach smaller. They also are cured of a condition that the world thinks is incurable.

However, doctors are not calling this a cure. If the weight goes back on, then the diabetes will return.

yes, because if you were to start gaining weight then that usually means you are not controlling your diabetes anymore. this falls in line with what i said here:

and you can manage it to a point where it might as well not be there, but it does not go away.

literally in the research paper they cited, the very first line of it is

Type 2 diabetes is a chronic disorder that requires lifelong treatment.

if you eat less, your blood sugar doesnt raise as much, which leads to much better management

So basically the stance here is that there is no distinction between insulin resistance and type 2.

T2 has a bunch of causes, including genetics. Assuming it's just a diet thing is kinda weird.

You should try a candida diet for half a year, it helps a lot of diabetic people, some of them even say it cured them completely

Even if you cut military spending in half it wouldn't be enough to cover every single citizen due to the sheer population size of the country.
