Saul Goodman is the second Breaking Bad character to win for the year he debuted, and we haven't even reached the year of the Breaking Bad premiere yet!

Other fun facts:

• Saul Goodman is the first to break the pattern of male/female winners rotating every other year that lasted from 2010-2019, given that Mike Ehrmantraut won for 2010.
• Closest match of the contest was by far Abed Nadir vs. Leslie Knope, going into double overtime and having a total score of 26-25.
• Had Hans Landa won, he would've only been the 2nd villain to win, after Erik Killmonger in 2018. Arguably Saul Goodman can still qualify, though his status as a villain in Breaking Bad is debateable.

A lot of us have seen Community but more have seen Breaking Bad

and as much of a diehard Community fan as I am, I'm not surprised to see them make the final four. Honestly surprised to see 2 make the final 8. Sitcom characters haven't tradtionally done super well in these contests thus far (though to be fair most classic sitcom characters weren't from the 2010s)

In general, the only comedy characters I've seen do particularly well are Disney characters and Deadpool
