38 y/o Carrie O'Connor, a Professor at Boston University was horrifically killed after she was CRUSHED to death at her new apartment building's ELEVATOR in a tragic accident!!

It happened in the Allston apartment complex at 1140 Commonwealth Ave when suddenly the elevator dropped between floors as she tried to load a package just after 5pm

Detective John Boyle said the death was traumatic asphyxia and called it an accident

A Tenant, Leanne Scorzoni said the scene was Horrifying as she spoken to another man who had been helping her with her package just seconds before the elevator dropped on her

She said "I heard it, he saw everything. He was helping her with a box into the building and he was going up the stairs and he told her, hey, just be careful because it's an old fashioned elevator. I don't know what type of elevator it is, but you have to pull the door across and then step in and then press the button"

She said the elevator had a sensor and the man helping said her package may have triggered that sensor and caused it to move

She said there was a staircase next to it and the man helping went up the staircase instead and told her "He just said, oh, i don't think that's gonna fit in there and then she's like, oh i'll try it one more time. And then i heard screaming and i heard him screaming"

The man was screaming and pointing when she emerged from her first floor apartment.

She looked at the elevator and it was not there, only the ceiling of the car was on her floor so all the cables were there.

Other residents reported hearing horrific screams as one said "i heard just an ungodly scream. We ran into the hallway and saw a gentleman who was in distress screaming and hyperventilating and saying she's dead, she's dead"

The residents were asked to leave for over an hour as they said the woman was trying to fit herself and her things onto the elevator but went over the limit.

Eric Carmichael, one of the residents aid it was the most a terrifying thing he's ever seen as the elevator became stuck between the first floor and the basement

Another said the elevator is a 2 slide door system and unless the door is completely shut, it does not move, ever and if it does then something was faulty

The Boston Inspectional Service Dept said the elevator is now being overseen for safety
