Trailer looked pretty good. I'm hopeful and having Yoshi P on it is a good sign. I actually had some fun in FF14 before I fell so behind on the story quests.

Yoshi-P has kept FF14 on schedule for years, and only changed this year because of covid, he's going to do a good job

Also the game is going to have DMC5 combat so get ready for a good game

Realistically shouldn't the game be ready by October of next year? The only thing they really have to work at is the story and world as everything else is essentially borrowed from previous FF titles and polished. Characters from 14, and battle system from 15. Nomura isn't working on the story, so it shouldn't take forever to release.

Not a fan of high fantasy. It's the default RPG setting and we don't need more of it. I enjoy the various ways FF adds in sci-fi, especially the lost technology style of FFXIV. I honestly don't get why people want more high fantasy setting games when all the most popular RPG series already use it.

Because the Crystal lore is generally really good in FF games. I'm sure we'll see more tech/magic stuff.

It shouldn't take several years at least. Yoshida and his team run a pretty tight schedule. We're getting more information in 2021 so Square must be confident this won't take forever to release. Plus, since VIIR Part 2 is coming probably by 2022 or 2023, I can't imagine Square wanting both of these games to release close to one another.

It's likely there will be some sci-fi tech somewhere. Nearly every FF game has that stuff. Even the medieval ones like 4, 9, and 5.

good thing graphics don't make games fun.

i think a major reason why the quality in FF games has declined the last few titles is because they focus way too much effort on making it look uber pretty. they continue to chase that "rich, cinematic experience" instead of creating a game that's just fun to play

I understand where youre coming from, but the real problem is that theres so much medieval high fantasy. That shit can go bye-bye.

In all fairness, though, one of the most off-putting things in FF to me is when the sword-wielding protagonists go up against machine-gun wielding enemies and mecha... and wipe the floor with them.
