I wonder if theyre going to cross pollinate these studios and IP now.

the obvious thing is that they now own Fallout and also Obsidian, so they could do a follow up to New Vegas

but like... they could make Arkane do another Preyesque game but do it in the Halo universe now. Or let Double Fine bring back Commander Keene for real. Maybe its time for Xbox to finally get its own Smash Bros rip-off? So many possibilities.

I wonder what this will bring about. I can't see them making TES and Fallout for instance Xbox exclusives; Microsoft has stepped away from that so much I can't see them going back now. As a Microsoft exclusive, maybe?

I don't doubt they'll have one big title be like a timed exclusive or something, just to get back at Sony for their timed exclusive and Spiderman Avengers shenanigans.

Microsoft isn't playing the exclusives game anymore - they're focusing on ecosystem, which is what Sony is going to wish it was doing come late this gen.

They likely made this purchase to shut out any of Sony's exclusivity shenanigans, open up new development opportunities and, most importantly, lock in Bethesda's entire library (including Day 1 new releases) for Game Pass.

Yeah, but they don't always have crossplay. Believe Halo Infinite does, but a cursory Google search isn't bringing up definite answer. Don't see why it wouldn't though.

Sony has gotten a little better about Crossplay. They allowed it for Dead by Daylight in any case (though still no Cross Progression... but Microsoft said no there too, for both Windows Store (not that anybody plays DBD through Windows Store) and XBOX).

I think it'd probably be more profitable in the long run to not have console exclusivity. Sony could probably make a LOT more money if they stopped with the exclusive nonsense.

Exclusivity isn't about making more money on those specific games. It's about selling more systems, and making money off of licensing fees for third party games.
