Like, I loved Friends, Fresh Prince, Simpsons, The Office and I get all of their humor and banter that makes it funny and entertaining but I don't get Seinfeld at all. Can someone give me a popular scene from the show that would make me drop dead laughing? Hopefully it's not one of those things where "If you don't get it then you don't get it and it's not for you" or some high IQ humor.

Yeah man people shit on Friends but the early seasons in particular are some god damn funny shit.

Seinfeld was a lot more hit and miss for me. I found the characters more annoying than anything, which I get it the point, but still.

Seinfeld made me laugh a few times. One episode that sticks out is the one were Elaine gets told she has a big head. I just remember a bird flying if into her head.

I'm watching it right now and it's alright. I don't think you can really watch random scenes of it and start laughing hard though. Most episodes set up jokes early on and then they build up funny situations around that idea and then things come full circle near the end and that's when things are at their funniest. George Costanza is really funny and the rest of the characters are just okay. I'm only on season 5 but the best episodes I've watched so far are The Library, The Alternate Side, The Limo, The Mango, and The Glasses. I like it but I agree that its not amazing

It's known for being a "show is about nothing". They even had a storyline where Jerry made a TV show that was exactly like Seinfeld and he pitched it to NBC as a show about nothing. Pretty much every episode is just about them having random conversations about stuff, or talking about dates they went on or feeling like they're in the right in an everyday situation where someone else thinks they were rude

I couldn't get into CYE, that first episode was just a drag and they kept repeating already unfunny lines.

Seinfeld is just a great show because of the absurd situations the characters find themselves in, oftentimes very relatable (like forgetting where you parked your car at a shopping mall parking lot) and the weird ass solutions they come up with to get out of those situations, usually making it even worse for themselves.

I love all the characters except Newman for various reasons. Elaine is adorably awkward, George tries to be smart and sleek but his ideas are predictably half-baked and it's fun to see him try to execute them, Seinfeld's of course the glue that holds everyone together and Kramer is just that dorky socially awkward guy who doesn't understand social queues. It's a good blend of characters that lend themselves to a good number of situations.

The humor is lighthearted and wholesome. Don't get me wrong, I love raunchier material like Always Sunny and The League, but I also just appreciate the clever and more subtle writing in Seinfeld that delivers comedy without relying too heavily on sometimes cheaper tactics.

I'd have to watch that episode to fully grasp it but from just reading that I don't think I'd like it too much. I don't like it when people have a small problem and make it a big problem and think it's all dandy.

Best scenes in Seinfeld were when the A plot and B plot would collide in the last minutes. Those tended to be the best episodes for me.

At the end of most episodes things don't work out for them and they either embarrass themselves or they feel annoyed with the situation

Yeah usually they end up failing at whatever they were trying to do lol.

In the first couple seasons a lot of the jokes are self-contained in each episode, but in later seasons certain ideas carry over between episodes so you get to see the tragedy of the single episode plus other bad situations play out over multiple episodes.

Could be, its definitely a show that has gotten better with time and I havent watched anything before Season 4 in like 15 years.

The writing is top notch in Seinfeld, like in any given episode there are 4 plot points all intersecting at different intervals and every scene is just so tightly written it's comedy gold.
