It operates under the rules from Liar Liar, so he cannot deceive by remaining silent or avoiding questions.

The exception is officially classified government secrets (that require official clearances to know). He'll be able to stay silent about those. But that does not extend to any campaign strategy or private business dealings.

His supporters would still like him because most of them are dishonest about why they support him, but taking this deal would cause Trump to repeatedly confirm over and over that he's attempting to commit massive voter fraud, and would admit on record repeatedly that there's not actually a threat of significant voter fraud from Democrats from the mail in voting. It would make it harder for the senate to continue with his plans this November.
