My condolences on the pretzels. Were they big fat Bavarian pretzels or were you making something like nuggets or pretzel dogs?

homemade soft pretzels, as braided twists. i threw the dough into the freezer, but they were in the oven for a couple minutes and had gone through the pre-cook soda bath. i'm guessing it's too late to save them, but we'll see.

You could try freezing them again. Worst case scenario when you try again the first bite tastes off and you toss the batch.

I remember one time I made pretzels but the shortening was expired and it was the most disappointing thing. I didn't know pretzels could taste expired right out of the oven but they can.

yeah, that's what i meant. i'm freezing them now. if not, it's not a hard recipe. but i hadn't made them in a while, and was really looking forward to it. =(
