I get sick of dark and gritty reboots. I'm worn out on superheroes. Yet, I find myself watching 1950s science fiction movies and westerns or 1980s action movies.

It's like an overbearing trend is okay as long as you didn't have to be there for it. You can take your pick from all the different offerings of the genre or subgenre. But when you live through one of them, it's like, "Please, stop. Can we get something else for a change?"

I wonder, in 30 to 60 years from now, what if anything the 2020s will be remembered for. Will we be the superhero generation of movies? We we have "examination of race" at the forefront of films for critical thinkers looking back on our generation? Maybe we'll see it as the Disney generation before anti-monopoly laws of the 2030s break the company up into different factions.

I'm more into drama flicks but I've seen many growing up. I will eventually watch more. I can't stand this superhero trend (including Avengers). I mainly just like Batman. To each their own.

I think maybe they have become more rare modernly because studios don't know if they'll hit and they are way more expensive I'd assume compared to old monster films.
