Arcanine's been my one of my favorite pokes since gen 1 but his moveset has been lacking. But I guess I can go

Flamethrower
Thunder Fang
Outrage
Crunch/Extreme Speed?

It's a firered difficulty hack but updated with up to Gen 8 pokes, moves, etc. It's called Radical Red.

And yeah Houndoom has been putting in work. Fire Fang, Thunder Fang, Bite and Smog so far in low 30s.

Yeah he's been doing great so far.

The fact you can get him as soon as you get to the wild area with his full move set in the new games almost made me want to do another play through.

Nah, Houndoom is better.

Other than Houndoom having slightly more SpA, Arcanine has a bit more bulk (base HP 90 vs 75, base Def 80 vs 50, identical SpD and Speed), so you can't go wrong with swapping it in.

Some guy recently released a patch/engine thingy called CFRU which stands for Complete Fire Red Upgrade. It added a ton of QoL improvements and Radical Red probably has the best use of it Ive played so far. Hell, you could use HMs without needing the proper pokemon now.

And I know Houndoom is better but doesn't a true pokemon master use their favorites instead of just what's better???

I feel like in PVE the pokemon you use dont really matter cause you can easily over level over the game

In this game you can't unless you hack in rare candies. It has a soft level cap (meaning you get experience still but it's a piddly amount) determined by how many gyms you've beaten.

Arcanine has a better Base Stat Total, and can learn Bite. Unless you just really want the STAB from Bite/Crunch, i'd say yes. Fewer weaknesses, higher stats, looks cooler.

What game? I just beat sword and shield and i over leveled quick. It was my first pokemon game in a while and i didnt look up any guides.

The games are essentially the same in PVE for the last 20 years with minor changes
