I feel like Super at least attempted to avoid that somewhat, if even just breaking up individual fights against a bad guy with some interruptions. Most fights in Saint Seiya start in one episode and end in the next. With an actual death and not just "haha I run away and fight you later"

Black Clover is pretty good with its fight lengths too. I can't remember any that went past two episodes except one huge climactic fight after a 30+ episode arc that went like three or four.

All i can think of is the goku/frieza battle on namek. I mean I missed a couple of episodes when we where watching it on DVD because I left to go get our food. And i didn't miss anything.
