It's fine if you don't take it too seriously. The plots get sillier as the series goes on and they drop plot points left and right, but whatever it's fun.

Like most Ryan Murphy shows it has a string first few seasons, and then drops off.

I always see people saying Ryan Murphy shows fizzle out, but I've enjoyed every season of AHS, except maybe 6.

The show premiered when I was starting college and I would watch each week. Then I graduated and stopped. Watching it now on Netflix to finish it - the acting is a bit over the top but the social messaging was a precursor to today and the songs are good for a bit of nostalgia.
