In the coronavirus patient zero example, you might try and stop patient zero from becoming infected, but in doing so you would catch the virus and become patient zero, or someone else would. No matter what you did, the salient events would just recalibrate around you. Try as you might to create a paradox, the events will always adjust themselves, to avoid any inconsistency.

another way to solve the paradox is that any changes create a new timeline separate from where you came from. then you either are stuck where you are, or you can return to your timeline if possible, but nothing will have changed. basically all you did was make a new universe

I didn't go in depth but allegedly it has been proved mathematically. Has that been done before?

i'm 99% sure backwards time travel is impossible (because time is an illusion of entropy), .99% sure if it's possible that it's only possible to go back to the creation of the time travel machine and .01% sure that if travel to any prior point is possible, we're already living with the consequences of those actions. (effect can precede cause)
