yes they had the Henry 1860 lever gun too but it was not widely distributed.

Grapeshot is gonna fuck your shit up worse than a rifle anyway, and also fuck up the two or three guys next to you.

If I remember reading correctly even rifling didn't seen to have that much impact during the American Civil War. The combat ranges remained the same from previous wars IIRC. Most men were militiamen who didn't have the training to make proper use of their weapons.

if south had a replica, Picketts charge would have turned out a lot different

The Winchester 73 is a great rifle, the action is so smooth compared to like a 92 or a 94. I have one for SASS and I love it.
