it is important to remember that a large part of the north's victory was its manufacturing capacity - if a side was in a better position to mass produce more advanced weapons as they became available, it was the north

i don't see the outcome of the war being significantly different, even with that rifle in play

If I remember reading correctly even rifling didn't seen to have that much impact during the American Civil War. The combat ranges remained the same from previous wars IIRC. Most men were militiamen who didn't have the training to make proper use of their weapons.

The Winchester 73 is a great rifle, the action is so smooth compared to like a 92 or a 94. I have one for SASS and I love it.
