It would be "did not owe" or the story would be about tax evasion.

So what if he was a draft dodger? I would have done the same thing if I was alive back then. The last war America should have been in was World War II.

'pay' is accurate in either case.

And you seem to have more terminology mixed up.

A difference in what is owed (according to what you file) and what is paid? That's delinquency.

What tax evasion is concerned about? The difference between what was filed and how it should have been filed. Not whether or not the bill was paid.

I don't see a problem with either one. What's so bad about dodging the draft for a war we never should have been in?

Eh you're going deeper than I can really follow. In my head you either file you taxes or you don't. To my understanding he filed his taxes people are just upset at how bull shit it is he has to pay less than most people while having so much money.

Yeah, this is confusing. I can see him not owing taxes since his position as president meant he had to exclude himself from his business. I don't think he has any income at this point and just uses the wealth he entered office with. But why would he deny not owing taxes?

So, can anyone here actually explain to me what's so bad about dodging the draft for a horrible war we shouldn't have been in? Trump always gets shit dodging the draft, but the Vietnam War is pretty much universally seen as a mistake. And somehow it's bad for him to have not participated in it?

You people don't have an answer. It's Trump, so everything he does is by definition bad. You don't realize that not everything a bad person does is bad.

I usually associate tax evasion with not filing. I understand at his level he could report some stuff and not others to be tax evasion. I just took the question I responded to be "did not pay" as though owed but didn't pay which I don't believe is the case.

Everybody knew he was a tax cheat when they elected him.

It's amazing how he could just refuse to do basic things like show his tax returns and get away with it. I still believe that if he just sits in the White House after losing the election he'll just stay President because nobody has the balls to hold him accountable for anything.

It's the fact that he didn't have the balls to submit to the draft and then he turns around at every turn and talks shit about actual military heroes or people killed in battle.

He thinks of himself as clever for evading military service, and thinks of those who ended up fighting as idiots, unless they were able to personally benefit it.

I believe because the wealthy have been dodging taxes and the military for a long time and why that doesn't upset people is beyond me. That should upset people but for some odd reason it doesn't but there's going to come a day when the people who aren't affected by this and low pay jobs will one day feel that and then maybe they'll get upset.

Virtually no corporation either American or foreign who operate on American soil pay any income taxes and they also treat their hourly paid employees who are now mostly foreigners especially for low pay hourly jobs, like crap,

People like Jeff Bezos rake in billions yet they barely pay their employees who do all the grunt physically demanding work peanuts because America's current brutal economic system was born, bred and perfected on slave plantations and no one can deny that and the current people who sit atop the economic tree use every dirty tactic they can to keep wages low and to keep workers subdued because with the help of a certain political party they have rendered labor unions useless and now hourly paid workers unlike the people that came before them in the 1940s, 1950s, 1960s etc who used labor unions and government regulations that created the blue collar middle class and now that's all lost.

Right now in 2020 1/3rd of this country now lives in or near poverty and these are people who work so imagine what the people who do not work are going through but we are so locked in our world that we do not pay attention to what's going on outside of our own existence.

The inability to to grasp the pathology of our oligarchic rulers is one of our gravest faults.

We have have been blinded to the depravity of our ruling elite by the relentless propaganda of public relations firms that work on behalf of corporations and the rich. Compliant politicians, clueless entertainers and our vapid, corporate-funded popular culture, which hold up the wealthy and entertainers as people we should emulate and assure us through diligence and hard work, we too can be wealthy is all a myth because slaves worked hard on those plantations and all they received for that work was death at an early age and an unmarked grave.

Since 1980, the top 1% in the US right now today in 2020 own roughly 40 to 45% of total wealth in the US and these are people for the most who have never held a job. In that same period, 80 to 90% of the people who have done all the work, only own 7%.

For every dollar the wealthiest amassed in 1980, they had an additional $3 dollars in income in 2008. The bottom 90% in that same period only added 1 cent of income.

Thanks to the shenanigans of the wealthy, the actual value of the minimum wage since 1968 has fallen by nearly 3 dollars.

Super wealthy people in a democracy are the cancer of democracy because they do not believe in democracy to begin with. We have allowed the likes of Jeff Bezos etc to destroy the country because they use their enormous wealth and political connections which they have bought and paid for to bend the rules that solely favors them and that's everything from not paying income taxes to trampling on workers and their rights, keep wages low etc.

We reward these greedy and corrupt people including most of our politicians who are now nothing more than puppets putting on a show for their wealthy handlers.
