Obviously with the new compilation out, a lot of people are playing it. Some are replaying games; some are playing them for the first time. But the sheer number of topics complaining about this game or that! Trying to make out these games are somehow boring, or badly designed, or just plain bad to play. We're talking one superb game, and two more excellent games, and people are talking like they're nothing!

I understand these are older games. Obviously the graphics are PRETTY oldfashioned, and, in some ways, so is the gameplay, but I've had so much fun with these games! So have many other people! Profesional reviewers consider them to be classics! Then, along come some people on this board, and pass judgement.

PowerOats, what's this you're saying about a third of the levels being lame in Super Mario 64? Almost every level in 64 was really good fun.

The only ones I didn't think much of were Dire Dire Docks, and Big Boo's Haunt. That's one seventh of the levels. And even those worlds had some interesting bits.

Nah, Dire Dire Docks, Hazy Maze Cave, Wet Dry Land, Tall Tall Mountain, and Tick Tock Clock are all trash levels

It was a breakthrough indeed. Most 3D platforms at the time were pure garbage Mario 64 was definitely one of the best games of that generation.

Camera is undisputedly the best of the three though, at least, so there's that.

Not really. MK64 is an example of a game that's aged terribly. I'd place it solidly in the bottom 3 of its own series nowadays. Unlike SM64, there's not really any point to go back to it except nostalgia.
