So you hear many different things from different people who all believe they're experts in this shit and you dunno who is right and who is wrong.

So as a human male, I am supposed to consume 3k worth of calories per day. The logic behind this is if you eat less calories a day then you'll lose more weight. So I imagine decreasing your intake to 2k per day is ideal for losing weight but people are saying hail no that's not good?

They say the normal amount is 2000 a day.

You can adjust your calories however you want, just keep in mind less is less. Also, if you exercise then you will be burning more calories on top of that which will make you even hungrier, and probably cause you to binge if your calorie count is too low for the day.

Losing weight is a balance of eating less calories, and moving more. Just make sure you eat enough or suffer the binge eating later in the day.

You can calculate your approximate daily burn (TDEE) on any online calculator to get a rough idea. 3k/day is a ton, that makes you fat unless you run like 40miles/wk with a manual labor job, or are extremely muscular

There's an idea on the internet that if you eat too little your "metabolism will slow down" but that's generally just bogus. You'll start losing muscle if you eat too little (like WAY too little), and your fat burn may slow down.

If you're already overweight reducing your calories per day will help a ton. Having a cheat day even once a week will slow your progress by 50% or more.

It sounds like you're maybe confused about when people say "don't reduce your calories TOO MUCH" -- that's because dieting isn't some crash thing you do and then return to your old way. It's a change in your lifestyle of eating... forever. If you just starve yourself you won't stick to it for the months+ that are required, and you'll go back to being fat when you stop.
