makes sense.

don't publishers make more money from digital games, and since people can't just lend them/sell them, it potentially means more buyers

Plus the lower demand for physical means they don't have to pay as much to have physical games made. It cuts out a part of the process entirely if a game is digital only also, like many indies are.

I mean, isn't that obvious?

They make more money per digital game sold (no material cost) and it stops the secondhand market (ala gamestop) flat...

Have fun with a DRM box and the uncertainty as to whether your game will work on the next DRM box.

no secondary market

getting the game to a brick and mortar store involves shipping and vendors, both of which cut into the profit margin.

So long as the price is identical (or even less) to buy a physical copy that needed to be manufactured, packaged, shipped, warehoused, wholesaled, and retailed, than it costs to just download it, I'll go ahead and keep my First-sale Doctrine rights, thanks.

Wouldn't all digital be better for the environment anyway?

Don't see why more people aren't on board with it

$60 for a game I can loan, borrow, resell, or buy used. Maybe even return.
Or, $60 for a game I'm stuck with, outside of game-sharing shenanigans or the fine print in Steam's refund policy.

The only time digital is worthwhile for me, is binging on flashsales.

On Launch I like Physical, I don't want to get my new console and be waiting to DL 100 gigs...

in the later months, I will DL the games since now that would be good to PreLoad games.

isn't if funny how their lower operating costs doesn't translate to cheaper games for the consumer?

in fact, the price is going the other way.

It's cheaper for the developers. Have you noticed how pricey some of those deluxe physical editions get? I imagine it's a fraction of the actual cost it takes to make those materials.
