Simple as this: while holding down one of my extra mouse buttons, my pc would listen to me speak and type what I say wherever the text cursor may be active. Would stop detecting when I let go of the button. No delay, no extra focus-stealing window or anything, just push-to-talk-to-type.

It seems like it would be RIDICULOUSLY convenient. Especially for games with only text chat or quick Google messages, what have you. I'm using voice to text on my phone constantly, it's super useful.

Is anyone aware of a way to make this a thing?
