the worst part about actually landing a proper bare-knuckle uppercut, is dealing with the double-impact that most people have never experienced. the human head is far harder than anything most people have punched. many people also don't know how to make a proper fist that doesnt get their fingers broken putting everything they have into a punch. then you have the lower jaw impact, followed by the full force lower jaw+skull impact on the follow through. if the toungue of their target gets caught in between the jaws, that's yet another factor in a street brawl that isn't going to come up in the dojo/gym. full uppercuts are generally wasteful, but do have their place in a fight. its just usually far more effective as a sucker punch than it is against somene that already has their fists engaged.
