And the contest for money that has 100,000 people in it won't be~

Picking Houston (a team with no future value at all) enabled me to already have a shortlist of 1-2 teams for every remaining week.

I already know who I intend to pick for most of the remaining weeks and will adjust if necessary. The Ravens will very likely be my week 15 pick assuming I get that far. The Browns of all teams will very likely be my week 16. The Patriots will most likely be my week 17.

By week 4 or 5 I always feel it's time to start planning ahead. It's the middle weeks that scare me the most this year.

Also the Texans were one of my most confident picks of the week. I locked them and put a lot of spread points on them~

(Also I may flip Ravens/Browns between 15/16 depending on matchups. Both have cupcakes those weeks and the Browns will likely be fighting for a playoff spot with their soft schedule)

I may actually use Dallas on Thanksgiving. There is nothing else I like at all that week except for New Orleans.

Meanwhile my strategy of "try picking the absolute sure thing as much as I can early on and deal with the scraps of remaining teams later"...

The spread on the Chiefs... it was so large! And they were playing at home! Whyyyyyyy

(I mean looking at the boxscore it seems like Mahomes shit the bed, but still)

Yeah I gave up on the idea of "saving teams for later" when I could never get past week 4 before this year. Just picking whichever team I feel confident will win.

Though I woulda lost week 1 this year if I remembered to pick before the noon games >.>

When we don't even know who's going to play, and when they play, it just makes it even more viable, I think. I don't think about it before week 4 or 5, though.

The team I wanted to pick (Chargers) next week no longer even has a game on the schedule. The Dolphins just happened to replace them as a viable alternative or I wouldn't have any options.

Picking only the biggest favorites early instead of playing it by feel seems a really good way for schedule changes to hand you a week where you have no good options at all.

My picks so far:

Team playing Jets, team playing Jaguars, team playing Jets, team playing Giants, team playing Jaguars

3 of the worst 4 teams in the NFL, and next week I pick against the Jets again.

And I still save Seattle, KC, and Baltimore.

Think I'm doing pretty well for myself so far honestly~
