I had it at some point. I remember getting a subscription after the Starfox 64 issue.

I cut all mine up into collages for my room as a kid.. Lol. They weren't very well made collages either.

Oh man, I had one of those. Its crazy what limited options we had back then to make plying that thing a bit more enjoyable.

These kids these days with their backlit screens. In my day...

I had both that one and the one that resembled a silly string that plugged into the link cable port.

I remember that! It was like a lamp. A lamp that did a really shitty job of letting you actually see anything on the screen.

Yup.

And we still got it anyway, cause back then even a really shitty job was better than no light at all.

I had the latter. I remember how much the Game Gears backlit screen changed things for me. And also how quickly it burned through batteries lol

It would've been nice to use it with rechargeable batteries and a Master Gear converter.

I used to collect comics as a kid and there were always ads for videogames in them. This one comes to mind:

That's hilarious. Pretty much just a straight marketing vehicle for Kool-Aid lol.

Glad you guys like the topic. I'm about to crack open an Electronic Gaming Monthly from around the same time.

Games like these are what truly caused the 80s North American videogame crash. Too many shit-tier games full of bugs swamping the market. Kool-Aid's game came at a time when even food companies were going into the game business, that's how bad it was. Nintendo learned from North America's mistake which was why they created the Nintendo Seal of Approval as quality control. It was a good idea at first, but then they got greedy and turned it into a monopoly.

By the way, my older cousin actually sent the coupons and money for that 2600 Kool-Aid game. It was so buggy that it played once, froze, and never played again.
