We never got to see how he'd be as a peacetime president, unfortunately. James K. Polk could be seen as an objective "best president" even if he's not well-liked or did controversial things. Bush Jr was compassionate but bumbling and part of the power hungry party. Slick Willie was also kinda in the right place at the right time. Abe was another in the right place at the right time and wasn't a whole dickhead and hardhead. Woodrow was a bigot and didn't care what kind of platform he ran on as long as he won (he kept us out of war, then he had us hel pin war, wtf, which one?).
