Sadly, this is now the rarest cartoon mentioned in this thread. Only like 4 episodes are known to still exist (not counting Robot Chicken sketches.) There are a lot of people in this topic who either stopped reading halfway through the topic title, or are just extremely self-centered and oblivious.
I clicked on this topic thinking "some dumbass will post Gummi Bears", but I was not expecting so many fails in one place. I was struggling to pick the most ignorant of the bunch, but it's got to be the guy who thinks no one will remember Fraggle Rock. Is it me or cartoons are dramatically dumbed down now?No. If anything, modern cartoons are de-coupled from the moral guardians of the 80s, or at the very least are coupled to different moral guardians. Mark Evanier has written a few items about how the D&D cartoon was heavily constrained by various advisory boards. https://www.newsfromme.com/pov/col145-2/ The kids were all heroic all but a semi-heroic member of their troupe named Eric. Eric was a whiner, a complainer, a guy who didn't like to go along with whatever the others wanted to do. Usually, he would grudgingly agree to participate, and it would always turn out well, and Eric would be glad he joined in. He was the one thing I really didn't like about the show. ... If you want a strange and largely forgotten 80s cartoon, then look into Mighty Orbots.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kaSJL18lJmw It's a giant robot anime, with typical American 80s-cartoon "wheel of morality" writing and the obligatory "kid appeal" character. It's also one of the very few cartoons with a definitive ending. ... Copied to Clipboard!
