Feels a lot like the first one but... the level design or movement or something feels off. It feels slower. Also the mouse sensitivity settings don't seem to make any lick of difference.

It's built on a different engine. It feels clunkier imo. There were also weird issues with framepacing if you ran the game above 60 fps that gives it a judder even though the framerate may be really high. But the level design was great though; there's tons to explore.

Interesting, glad it's not just my mind misremembering the first game.

How does the chaos system work here? I've had a few guards die (legit not my fault, I didn't know there was going to be a swarm of bloodflies in a dumpster -_-), is that gonna give me the "bad" ending later?

I remember there was something about mouse acceleration that was giving people issues. Might check about that.

It's pretty much the same as the first. You can see your overall chaos after each level, and that will determine which ending you get.

Basically anything that the game keeps track of, will count against you. Number of guards killed, civilians killed, times seen, alarms raised, etc. You generally have to kill quite a lot of people each stage to get high chaos, so you really don't have to worry about it all that much.

Its nowhere near as good as the first one, and I had to restart it a few times before it finally ever grabbed me but when it eventually did I had a decent time.

I had a good time with D2, and it has some of the all-time best levels in the series, but it doesn't replicate the feel of D1's homespun downtime fun. You know, just hanging out between missions, talking to your buddies and NPCs, etc. It's obvious why that didn't happen again, but it turns out, having everything be super depressing in and out of missions gets to be a little tiresome. It needs those pockets of comfort and chilling out to offset the dreariness.

That said, D2 was still kickass and I'd recommend it to people who like the first one. DTTO is a little slighter and of lower priority.

Are you playing the game as Emily or Corvo? The game seems like it was designed to be played as Emily with her specific powers.

Decided to roll with Corvo. Was tempted to play as Emily but I wanted to go a stealthier route (lol right) and it seemed like his abilities were more in tune with that.

I could've sworn Emily had more stealth-oriented abilities.
