Are they super extreme rare or something? And if so I cant imagine them being playable since that would create outrage due to price to stay competitive.

Champion's Path isn't a real set. the packs cost more than usual, booster boxes don't even exist, and the print run is significantly lower. both charizards are secret rares. charizard is by far the most collected pokemon.

high demand, low supply chase cards? $$$

I played the tcg back in 1999/2000 and moved to magic. Magics prices for standard legal/competitive cards usually max at 50/60 for the mythic rares. Then go up or down in price depending of how useful they are in other formats once they rotate out and the supply/demand.

500 is ridiculous considering youd have to pay more than a 1 thousand in just 2 or 3 cards of the whole deck. Something that usually creates a lot of backlash from the communities.

That makes more sense. Kinda like Magic makes the master sets with a bigger pool of expensive card. Even so 500 is ridiculous for something that just came out.

edit: both cards have identical playable versions in Darkness Ablaze for ~$6 and ~$70. so, if you want to play them, there is a cheaper (if not exactly cheap for the VMax) option.

in case you missed it

Sounds like something more of a collector's price. In YGO, a card came out a few sets ago that's hovering around $1,200 right now

Alpha BL had a printing of 1,200 from which only a handful exist and even less so at pristine condition. The charizard first edition base set also sold at 220k. Wonder whats the supply for that.
