The sad thing is, we are witnessing tyranny unfold in our government and the majority of the 2nd Amendment types support it.
this is not a political thread its a survival thread, so lay off the bait

An AK isnt a bad idea either. Less maintenance to worry about than an AR15 and the ammo is currently cheaper.

in other parts of the world yes.

if youre concerned about absence of magazines which probably wouldnt happen, an SKS is a good alternative because it uses the same ammo 7.62*39 with internal magazine.

in the West, an M1 Garand would be sufficient for an internal magazine, but 30-06 might be less common than 7.62*51 NATO.

Lee enfield MK4 is another good choice for internal mag depending where you live. Or even mosin nagant.

Well for one, it isn't bait. And two, you should have left out the "tyranny" part if you didn't want it to "get political." It's irrelevant to a discussion about SHTF at this point because of the reasons outlined in my original reply.

But I'm not going to derail your thread. Just feel the need to point out the bullshit notion of fighting against tyranny in the US. And I say this as a heavy 2nd Amendment supporter.
Fair enough good reply

AR-15 in 5.56

A Glock 19 or newer model (in 9mm)

There's no need for a .22 rifle, you can varmint hunt just fine with lighter 5 56 rounds. There's even less need for a shotgun.

Two guns. Only two kinds of ammo to conserve. Both guns can be hand loaded from brass (Unlike .22 LR). Neither gun is going to stop working unless you critically fail at basic maintenace for a long time, and both guns have replacement parts everywhere. Both guns work in self-defense, and you don't need to worry about self-defense at any range unlike if you start swapping between an AR-15 and your 10/22 or Shotgun. 5.56 and 9mm are both exceptionally available.

You have less shit to lug around if your traveling which means you're more efficient with your time and energy.

Good points, I would edit OP but I cant, self loading is the most important thing imo, thats why I also included internal mag rifles in the other post.

AR15 over the Ruger if you could have one.
