I thought it was from Dead Cells, but it's not (probably)

I keep getting the image of a character doing a short hop to dodge a low attack... I know you can do this in Soul Calibur, but I haven't played one of those in like 20 years; and while Smash Bros does have directional dodges, none of them fit the bill either

...

I think it is either 3D or psuedo-3d.,.. and I think time slows down when you do a successful dodge this way (and furthermore I think you can do a sort of side-ways whirlwind counter out of it) but that might be something entirely different

That's very possible... I haven't replayed FF9 yet, but I was watching videos on getting that minigame 100%'d for the bonus item

I don't think it's it for sure, but it's pretty up there

I vaguely remember you asking about a similar slo-mo jump and kick move that sounded like it could be viewtiful joe. would have been a year or two or three ago.

Oi, I'm closer...

The move I'm thinking of is definitely similar to Soul Calibur 2 Nightmare's Reverse slash/horizontals.... however, you can't perform them out of a short hop in SC2 (so maybe SC3?)

in Street Fighter 2, if I recall, Balrog has a really short jump
