everything has a base salary, and depending on how well you do is how much you can get. 45 is a fair salary for a starter salary. Not to mention that these salaries usually aren't the salary that the person will have after their "trial" period finishes.
Case in point, a computer hardware company near me only pays 13/h for the first 3 months before upping the pay significantly to 50-60k a year. They want to see who will stick around. It's a stupid ploy to get people for cheap. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Complicating things is the fact that I think people generally have two different definitions of "saturated" when they talk about a field.
For example, if you graduated with a computer science degree in the middle of the dot com boom you could be pretty much guaranteed a job anywhere. You can still pretty reliably get a well-paying job with that degree, but you can't expect to coast into a good job with mediocre grades anymore. Some people consider the point at which you can't reliably get a career with a bad GPA when the market has become saturated. Others don't really consider it saturated until the pool of open job recs has shrunk to be less than the number of qualified candidates. Complicating things is the fact that I think people generally have two different definitions of "saturated" when they talk about a field.I mean this is why I am nervous about doing certain programs over others. I guess with trades it doesn't technically matter if you get low grades, while it would matter in a law interview. Ideally the best path is one where even some failure is permissible, since I am liable to that. Trucking. People are terrified of automated driving killing it so they won't go into it. My cousins husband is a trucker, he said that the new automated logs basically ruined his career. It tells you when to sleep, when to drive, and when to eat. So, for example, if you aren't tired and think you could go another hundred miles to the next rest stop, the logs will send a message to your employer and they won't pay you for that hundred miles. He is literally sitting in his truck unable to do anything thanks to that. God forbid he goes into a busy city like Chicago and gets stuck in traffic. With manual logs that he writes himself, he can drive until he's tired, pull into the nearest truck stop and move at his own pace. A weeks drive he can have done 4-5 days, as he can go through cities like Chicago during the night when there is less traffic. ... Copied to Clipboard!
