Lmfao, no way he loses the Popular Vote. Democrats have taken the popular vote, how many election cycles?

i'm not against it now, it allows your vote to carry more power. It's easier to flip a state then flip a country. It also forces presidents to campaign in less populated areas so their focus isn't just New York City, Southern California, Central Texas, and Chicago.

I do support a redistribution of votes to more accurately reflect population and i have no qualms with eliminating winner takes all for states.

It doesn't really do this, though; wide swaths of the country go basically unnoticed during the campaign.

And under a popular vote candidates would be wise to spend money in smaller markets where, per-person, it costs less to advertise.

by showing a lot of under populated areas that are getting attention?

and you're showing me a graph that's telling me both parties are ignoring California and Texas let's me know your data is horse shit to begin with.

Yeah, because the electoral college makes that a waste of resources. No one is advertising to a small population in a state that is a lock for the opponent. But in a popular vote system, there's now value in picking up votes from places like that.

advertisment isn't limited to politics. no one focuses on where they can get the least eyes on them.

and there isn't. Do you try to get 3 million votes in LA or 10 votes in bumfuck wyoming in an election that's decided by millions of votes. If they felt there was value in wyoming, they would be there now trying to get that state to flip because

Even when it results in presidents i dont like, i support the electoral college. I don't want another 4 years of trump, but if he legitimately gets it, I will take that compared to changing the system.

They do both. After you got a decent amount of ads in a large and expensive market, you get better returns by placing ads in multiple smaller and cheaper markets than you would by buying even more ads in your large market.

Like lets go back to wyoming. Currently, if the democrats would put a whole lot of effort/money into it to double their 2016 votes. They'd still lose the state and the money would be wasted. While the amount of resources to get like say 10 or 20% more votes would be significantly less and have value in a popular vote situation.

and in a popular vote situtation instead of winning by 2,868,686 votes they'd have won by 2,924,659. Wow so worth the investment.

Please list all these national companies doing localized ads for bumfuck wyoming since you claimed they're doing it all the time.
