Had to drive across post to meet one of the Sergeants in my unit cause he said he'd give me a new HDMI cable.. Met him at the (only) gas station on post since he lived in residential behind it. Got the cable, went to leave, and as I backed up, I heard a long beep so I stopped and looked to my left and there was this truck turning, who continued to turn as I'd stopped. She slightly swiped my vehicle above the driver side wheel well. I'll be honest. Skinny dude, fat lady driving. Pretty sure she was what you'd call a dependa, and so I basically backed up a little more, didn't see damage to their truck, and didn't care about my shit vehicle since I only bought it for $700. So I just left. Didn't talk to them or anything. Probably had to do with me being tired, who knows? Cue the MP's showing up at my barracks to handcuff me about an hour or two later. The best part was the MP's telling me they had witness testimony and video evidence I hit her even though I was sticking to the story that she hit me. And I had just put a leave packet in to go home a few prior so I thought my chain of command would deny my leave packet. I did not lose it however and while I was home my insurance called me and informed me the truck was at fault. So that was cool. Also turns out eventually the dude who arrested me was reclassed or kicked out, I don't know which, for misconduct I guess. TL;DR Hit and run that wasn't my fault. Many edits.
