according to the results i see on internet wayback machine when i search http://gamefaqs.com/boards and check the number of users browsing at pretty much any date between 2009 and 2011, the latter being when reddit exploded and basically walmart'd all the smaller websites out there

What was the average number of users browsing at a given time during those periods? Last several times I've payed attention, it's been around 1700-1900. Maybe low or mid 2000s.

Gfaqs popularity has waned over time as more and more other things have popped up. Why would the chitlins use gamefaqs when they can get on their instatwits and reddcords.

I do love all the subreddits for different music genres and my different interests. Social media I totally avoid. Seems like message boards have stayed under the mainstream ans I personally would rather have that. Finding a good discord is about the closest to a forum, bit sometimes it moves just way too fast.
