After the end of the last Mortal Kombat melarky it's technically peacetime.

However a lot of the Warriors/conscripts didn't want to go back to their shitty realms, especially Outworld and so remained in Earthrealm.

Most of them have formed their own communes but their kids still have to go school due to laws. All of which has caused a lot of controversy/racial tension across the world.

At your kids' school there are over a dozen Shokan, 3 Tarkatans and 1 centaur. There was a vampire but she has to be homeschooled now because of daylight.

You used to think of this a problem just affects other people until you find out that your 13 year old daughter's best friend in school is one of those Shokan. And they are spending most of their time together every day. She's actually lost some of her conservative human friends because of it.

Her friend's name is Krug and despite also being 13, he's 6 foot, 360 pounds, has 4 arms and wears little more than a loin cloth and harness.



Krug's parents defo killed people during the invasion and his dad died from injuries sustained the war.

Your daughters other parent also died in the war when a Shokan threw a car at the helicopter she was in.

Your sister in law Mildred is furious when she sees your daughter and Krug playing in the park together after school.... well Krug is playing and your daughter is barely keeping up with him.

"I can't believe they're letting those things into our schools. They're dumb violent killers. Do you know they carry knives as some sort of cultural ritual thing. Yes that's right. Knives!

They've totally destroyed the economy of physical labor jobs and they commit so much violent crime proportionately. It's like 13% them despite being 0.4% of the population. Now they're in our schools , with our children! It makes me sick. If I were you I'd forbid her from hanging around that thing. They're not like us, they're literally bloodthirsty savages from a decrepit wasteland."

Your sister In law is far from alone in those thoughts. There are popular propositions across the world to boot people back to their own realms. And Krug could rip a bear's spine out of its body with one hand. Imagine what he could do to a little girl if he lost his temper one day.

Later your daughter approaches you with a permission slip for you to sign so she can be in a play inside the Shokan commune.

"Yeah they need a human for this one. I'm gonna play this Lung Kao guy or whatever. He's some kind of war hero or something, it's a small but important role. And Krug is gonna play Emperor Goro! That's the lead! "
