I thought it was set for Monday, I guess someone said fuck it since it was such a simple denial and filled it out over their English muffin and coffee.

Its the state Supreme Court so none of them are Trump appointees. However its going up before a federal judge soon who is a Trump appointee and will almost certainly rule in favor of throwing the ballots out, so. Thats gonna be a thing.

The all-Republican court denied the request without an order or opinion, as justices did last month in a similar lawsuit brought by some of the same plaintiffs.

Can't believe people are cheering for this on Twitter.

They would be pissing themselves if this were happening in a Democrat-governed state.

It's kinda scary how Republicans are willing to blatantly try and suppress the vote, especially, in cases like this one, where the vast majority of ballots cast will not be for a Republican. That Texas dropbox was like in Houston, or something, right? Big cities tend to be more liberal and have more minorites, a double whammy for Republicans. They are just outright trying to throw out 130k votes for Biden, lol.

You even got a senior advisor the president on ABC news today saying that if Trump is leading with 4% of the vote in on election night that makes him the winner, and that if they keep counting valid, legally cast ballots when the nightly news is over that it's Democrats trying to "steal" the election.

Like, why? The actual electors don't cast their votes until December, why is it so important to cut off the count on election night? I really don't see a valid reason why that should be so, besides that it's obvious voter suppression.

They're taking advantage of the fact that the majority of people think the vote is decided in one day and don't understand the full process.

Nobody older than 30 think that.

Those of us who lived through 2000 and 2004 know it may take a day or longer. Those who lived through 1960 know it could take longer than that, even.

It was the most hyper partisan republican bench they could scrape together possible.
