I feel like there was less demand for it too, I barely saw anyone asking for this
But you saw a lot of people asking for Mario World or Xenoblade X

A friend of mine who has never played any Pikmin impulse bought this, and he marathoned it in one 13 hour session.

Pilmin isn't any good without a C-stick.

Like you would think they would just hard map the right stick to work the same, but they sure didn't!

We won't know until Nintendo announces their quarterly earnings in a few months' time. It could be that it launched worse then sells better overall. For instance, I believe MK8D launched below the original and look how that went.

For what it's worth, Pikmin 3 did very well at launch in the UK, much better early sales than the first two with the added benefit of coming out in the middle of summer when there wasn't much competition. This is coming out at a more crowded time so early sales could be pushed down a bit.

Edit: Also, with digital, it is probably the same or better.

I've never used a Joycon before other than when I was setting up the console, but the right stick for Pikmin 3 does not have the same functionality as it did in Pikmin 1.

Felt like they were barely promoting this, and it's between Mario and Zelda releases so not too surprising. It'll probably recover over time. Maybe selling it full price and not making it a trilogy hurt too.

I actually hated that 2 got rid of the time limit, so I never played 3. I loved 1 a lot though. Might have to check this out.

I feel like an updated port with new content is less of a cash grab than just throwing the three games on a cart ala Mario All-Stars.

They didnt include online mutliplayer which is a big dumb thing.

Also yeah pikmin without a c-stick sucks. Same reasons why the wii versions sucked.

Also, the demo I downloaded crashed multiple times.

I spent full price on this game

3 didn't add more complexity than 2 and even removed the "dungeons"

Though I guess 3 characters is more complex than 2.
