Man. People are pessimistic for the future.
I feel kind of in the middle. The human race is capable of achieving great things. But perhaps we are in a decline --- Thank you for playing. Yes. I am number one! ... Copied to Clipboard!

To be fair, like 90% of the response is probably angsty "adults" upset about politics atm. Then a good chunk of the remaining negative nellies are people who picked up a scifi novel or two at some point in their lives (just kidding -- obviously they watched the movie adaptations of those novels!)

Yeah, I mean I think some of the pesimism of the modern age isn't election related. Just related to rising cost of living/lower quality of living compared to previous generations. Mostly around housing cost
But there is cool new cheap stuff as well. Cool technology, innovation. That stuff really excites me. --- Thank you for playing. Yes. I am number one! ... Copied to Clipboard!

Just related to rising cost of living/lower quality of living compared to previous generations. The quality of living is much higher than previous generations, though. Things that were luxuries are now remarkably commonplace. Just a few generations ago, only 4/5s of households had a car. Now it's common for households to have two and fewer than 9% of American households are without a car (which, considering how many people live in cities with excellent public transit, can also come down to choice) --- (\/)(\/)|-| There are precious few at ease / With moral ambiguities / So we act as though they don't exist. ... I have also read some Thomas Sowell books. I do think people have tighter finances tho, as the housing is more expensive. But that's largely because of a handful of policies. Zoning laws, lowering the interest rate perpetually, foreign purchases. I think if the right choices are made that would easily turn around. But people would fight it because existing home owners want to sell their homes at high prices. But IMO, it's a bit unfair, and also kind of bad for everyone as it makes moving very difficult for existing he owners as well. --- Thank you for playing. Yes. I am number one! ...
