You can definitely fight more than one, and I wasn't talking about the final boss. The extra boost for Undyne is so nice.

I know what you were talking about. But I was thinking they patched it to only happen once.

I am definitely wrong about bosses "normalizing" your level though. Only Mettaton Neo does that.

Took me a long time to beat Genocide Undyne. I never beat the harder fight later on.

I decided to restart and follow a guide to get as many Execution Points and Levels of Violence as possible before Undyne, and this time hold on to the Snowman Pieces (plus the Quiche which I did have before)

Once the herd thins they take forever to show up

But Im already at Level 11 which is where I was when I was losing to Undyne. My guess is Ill get to 13 after killing Papyrus and maxing my EXP in Waterfall.

Ive spent an hour just working on the second regular attack and my mind just cant figure it out consistently

Im good with the opener and the first regular attack, and the third and fourth, but Im just so bad at the second and not getting any better

Im not using healing items this early in the fight either. My strategy was to just tough it out until I could consistently get deeper in the fight before needing to heal, but Im not making progress.

You should definitely attempt to see as much of the fight as possible on each run. That's basic prog. Focus on learning as much as you can at once and not perfecting every step. The fight gets harder the farther in you go so you want as much practice on later attacks as possible.

Basically you should be using healing items as needed so you get more practice. No point in conserving them.

Might also help to watch a video of someone clearing the fight.

The second attack you need to move in the direction of the attacks as you jump so that you have enough time to land and be still through the blue bones. Falling still counts as moving so the key is to buy yourself more time.

You said you got good at the third and fourth attacks but the second isn't clicking, right? So practice on the whole fight, too. If it's tilting you that you can't figure one attack out then take a break from it, but you have to ditch that mindset. You don't have to worry about doing the whole fight perfectly.

I eventually beat Sans and the attack with the blue bones youre talking about was one of the hardest to avoid. Id always take a couple hits, even when I could get to later phases. Eventually I got good enlightened to avoid it, but imo he has enough variety on his attacks that everyone has one or two that just doesnt click. Its a process. You dont have to be able to avoid everything he does, just enough of it.

Its all about that persistence. Imo Sans is the hardest when you dont know whats coming. Once you really learn his patterns, I mean really learn them, it helps a lot.

I always found Undyne harder than Sans for some reason. The only part for Sans that I just couldn't figure out was the menu select attacks, I would lose more health trying to heal than just attacking.

Yeah I never figured out how to deal with the menu bones outside of spending as little time in the menus as possible.

There's a rhythm to it but you have to be very quick. It generally is better to not overthink it and go fast if it's causing problems.
