Look it up the main points about the tea I'll give was it somehow constricted blood flow allowing them to take bigger wounds than normal without bleeding out. Also put them in a blood lust apparently so the pain of said wounds wasnt really a factor. Probably would boil down to certain varibles though. Who attacked who and how prepared the defenders where for a fight. Former would make more sense as I believe that Vikings were still around during the Heian period. But they had a size advantage and in a one on one, that could be a big game changer. But if it was a full scale battle?
