To be fair, Boob Armor is absolutely stupid. Extend the breastplate a few inches to avoid compression. it's not a good idea to have Boob armor either. You want something that spreads the impact out on as much surface area as possible, boob armor concentrates the impact

This is a fantasy sci-fi universe. I'm not sure what that armor is made out of (don't tell me Star Wars nerds) but it's clearly not metal or kevlar. It's design is to protect from lasers, lacerations and burns. It's clearly different and lighter.

Logic about flaws in human armor on Earth is not automatically applicable.

Reminds me of a scene in Star Trek The Next Generation where Scotty is running around Engineering panicking that everything is wrong because he doesn't standard how the stuff works.

Maybe concrentrating the impact is exactly what this armor is designed to do and beneficial?

Except we've seen how Blaster bolts react to Mandalorian Armor. The blaster bolts clearly have mass as objects struck by them move backwards and the blasters themselves have recoil, thus it's safe to assume they behave similarly to bullets, thus absorption would be the better option given the weight

Its also irrelevant as the Star Wars universe uses energy weapons so ballistics would be less important than comfort (not like shield generators require a certain shape).

This is the case in Mass Effect. Some of the Asari use their psychic bendy spoons metal power to put barriers around their tits, then walk around nearly naked to distact their enemies. Also they use stripper dancing as a martial art (No really, that's canon)

In a sci-fi setting you just don't know.

How? There's a good reason why the cuirass pictured has little ridges, it's there to deflect blows from the front to the side, like slanted tank armor.

It's all in generality essentially, but we can draw conclusions from in-universe lore. And thus we circle back around to Beskar, if it's Beskar, it's meant to repel blaster fire, so as such, the boob sculpts would literally be there for design and not for effectiveness.

I just think it goes back to age-old design of armor for females, to at least show that they're females. In reality, Boob Armor just doesn't work, it's ineffective in most cases and if women were to wear armor, it's easier, as said, to extend the breastplate a few inches to avoid compression rather than sculpting...booby saddles.

TL;DR for familiarity rather than practicality.
