this is legit the first time i can remember when my reaction is "that's it?"
like i feel... younger?

and i've got two. by far the best machine when looking for emulation, only the Vita TV holds a candle. things it can't play: 3DS, newer systems, PSP, PS2, Vita, Xbox, Saturn, Dreamcast. and it can do them on the gamepad or TV.

everything else is doable. some library inconsistences with the DS iirc but solid on all other Nintendo lines. Vita TV sacrifices post 16 bit Nintendo (N64/Wii/WIi U/Gamecube/DS) lines but in exchange gets near perfect PS1, PSP, and Vita.

Yes, PC has been more than capable of emulating Saturn for some time. Use Mednafen.

Feels like it's way older than 8. Probably because it was more in line with the PS3 and 360.

only PC can do Saturn well. everything else is a giant nope.
the Panzer Dragoon remakes are eliminating a reason, i figure they're building up to Saga when they've gotta make ground up. there's only like 10-15 Saturn games that matter so it'd be nice if they all found new homes.

The Wii U had a great little library. Emphasis on little, but the games that were there really packed in the quality - I have no regrets at all about my purchase.

Of course, we're far better off now with (almost!) all of those games being ported elsewhere. I came across my Wii U tablet recently and was kind of taken aback how much it feels like a Fisherprice toy compared to an undocked Switch.

Mine was just a Smash/Mario Kart machine honestly, so it's been completely replaced by the Switch.

I got a good price on a refurbished one though so I don't regret buying it at all

It had good party games though, like every Nintendo console N64-onward.

I just finished playing Super Mario 3D World since I moved in with my brother's kids. Awesome game, easily leaps and bounds ahead of any other Mario game when playing with kids.

I have a nice little Wii U library too. Great console. I just wish the BOTW port was better. It's so half-assed. You could do so much with BOTW on the gamepad.

I didn't get a Wii U but from the sounds of it it has a much better library of old games and basic features like Netflix that the Switch ridiculously doesn't have. And hey there have been tons of games ported to Switch that have done super well so the games weren't the problem.

What is even left stuck on there now, like Xenoblade X? Nintendoland?

XCX, Nintendoland and Game & Wario are the big three holdouts that I can think of off the cuff. The latter two are very much built around the tablet so really there's only one big port left that we could expect.

Seriously. Maybe because it was replaced so early, but it feels older than that, even having bought mine a year and change after release (December 2013).
And it's still kinda hooked up but shares an HDMI cable with my PS3.

Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, maybe? I think that'd be bigger than the latter two. I don't think that's been ported to anything else yet.

others already said the big games still stuck on it.

the Switch with its ports may already have a better library but the Wii U is just stupid easy to hack and has the same architecture of the WIi and Gamecube so it can play both at a semi-native level. not exactly native since it's not with the literal hardware inside but close enough. gamecube can be done on the gamepad too, which is nice. Switch right now is experimenting with Gamecube and WIi emulators, that's the Mario collection, and it's pretty good from the looks of it. N64 emulator on the WIi U is to date the best one out there, at least until the Switch fully picks it up. if you want Nintendo anything that wasn't 3DS and maybe DS, it's pretty ideal. unsure how DS games work since i never tried as that's what the 3DS is for.

The officially released DS Virtual Console games on the Wii U give you all sorts of dual screen options, like both on the TV, or one on the TV or one on the game pad, and different sizes and orientations
