Spending it with my aunt and cousins. My grandma is in the hospital and about to pass any day now. Its 6 months after my uncle passed (my aunts husband and cousins dad). This is going to be a very sad one for us. Luckily the weather is nice in SoCal and if its warm enough well just be outside.

We had actually planned to celebrate on Saturday but nursing home where wife works just got an outbreak after being COVID free last two months. So no Thanksgiving.

My brother is staying put in DC and I'm not visiting my mother this year because my stepfather is in poor health so I'm not going to risk it. Visiting my dad is still up in the air as I'm not sure if his girlfriend's daughter and her family will be there. I don't feel comfortable having my dad make a big Thanksgiving dinner for just three people so I might just get KFC the night before.

Yeah, smaller family gathering and we'll be flying to Vegas to celebrate the holiday this year. Already have reservations for dinner, they require masks to enter but once you're seated it's okay so I think it'll be pretty safe.

My nuclear family lives on the same block, so we have the same bubble. My mom will fight to have a larger gathering, but I will ensure we do not.

Sort of yes, sort of no.

I'm going up to my parents', my brother also lives with them, and I'm staying there through new years because I can just work remotely. I've stayed shut in my apartment for two weeks in preparation for that.

We are not doing anything with extended family for the holidays which is because of covid stuff obviously. It'll just be the 4 of us. My dad's extended family is choosing to be dumb as hell though and basically pretend it's fine bc my uncle is an idiot who thinks the virus is fake news.

Some people actually like their families and look forward to making new friends. Some people like traditions that celebrate those relationships. Holidays are a convenient milestone for all of that. And, yes, some people also want to not forget certain moments in history that have meaning for their culture.
