I bought some to clean my drip pans and had a few left over. I decided to pop one for dinner. it that was kind of nasty in the sense that I can taste the corn syrup and the cola flavor isn't that strong. but I feel great now. maybe it's the combination of the sugar, carbonation, and caffeine. I was addicted to this shit as a kid and I feel like "myself" for some reason. I like the feeling but it's a discomforting thought that I'm settled by shit that's so unhealthy.

I can relate to that pretty hard. My parents meant well, but fuck were they ignorant. I still get a strong urge for coke whenever I have pizza.

my dad and his wife must have caught on because they started limiting me to one per day when I lived with them over the summer. I stashed one in my desk coming home from camp one day and when I went to get it, it was gone. nosy assholes...

Melloyellow always has and always will be the only good soda...well maybe cheer wine or Dr Pepper too but pepsi/coke have never been good

I had mello twice. The first time I had it, I immediately realized it was the best. 13 years later, it came to my state! And it sucked.

Soda nowadays seems so fucking loaded with sugars that it's syrupy. Takes much longer to get cold than I remember, and it's so fucking saccharine sweet. Sprite used to be good because it had a light taste and got real fucking cold, don't you remember?!

I only know this cause some times I give in when my folks invite me over for pizza, and get soda even though I keep telling them to watch their sugar. I give up, serve myself some soda, and nearly spit it out cause it's never as good as I remember.

Shout outs to Dr. Brown's black cherry soda, sugarless and good, though it has that unfortunate aftereffect of leaving your tongue sweet for some hours.

As someone who switched from soda to almost exclusively water for over a year, soda never stops being good. You'll see/hear people all the time say they can't drink that shit anymore after going without for a while. Nah. Fuckin lies. Soda never stops being good

Oh damn mello yellow. The memories. My first job at a supermarket, at some point I was leaving every shift with a 12 pack of that crap. Pure liquid fuckin sugar, nectar, lifeblood

I didnt know it wasnt availbe nation wide, i knew cheerwine wasnt but thought mello yellow was as ubiqutious as coke.

Id drink soda like crazy as a kid. Like 3-6 cans per day. We were just brought up that it was as acceptable to drink as anything else.

I gave it up cold turkey about a decade ago after reading some (probably exaggerated) reports on high fructose corn syrup. And I somehow did it with zero desire to have one, every. I cant explain it... it shouldnt have been that easy.

The only time Ill ever have one really is if Im at a wedding with an open bar. Ill typically drink beer, but to add some variety, Ill occasionally get rum & coke. And it never makes me want to get another soda or anything... its just a different beverage on those nights, nothing more.

the reason I want one now is the same as when I was a kid. it's there and it's good enough and I want that little kick because I'm bored.

I kept 12-packs of Coke & Diet Coke in my fridge in case I had company over that wanted one. Eventually had to throw them out after most of them went untouched.

I seriously cant explain my willpower when it comes to soda. Its not like me at all.
