I have the early ones and they wear and sound great and I really like the integration they have with my other Apple products.
That said its coming on the 2 year mark and they are getting kind of worn down. I can place some of that one me because of extensive use and I don't clean them every single time after a workout, but I still would think I wouldn't have too many problems with them at this point. I have the powerbeats pro. They're pretty solid and you dont have to worry about them falling out.

why, if you have an iphone?they pair pretty conveniently with iphones because of the w1 chip, its not a huge deal but its kind of cool. the airpods might not be top tier in terms of sound quality but i like how they work well for phone calls + they're comfortable to wear long term if you listen to music at work or w/e --- ...
