That wasnt pleasant. That nose swab is no fun, ugh.

I dont have any symptoms, but am a teacher and had a student test positive, and 14 of my other students had to quarantine because of it.

Really hope its negative. Would suck that my quarantine would be while Im already off for thanksgiving break hah

lol about half the in my area of the US have discontinued online learning and forced kids to in person classes. My states education agency just passed something thatll allow schools to kick kids off online learning if theyre failing even a single class.

its all backwards and beyond fucked up.

my school district doesnt even offer covid tests. I did mine at a CVS and they told me not to expect results for at LEAST 5 days now, as demand for testing has exploded in the last week.

so basically covid tests are useless now unless you wanna pay 75-250 for a rapid test. Awesome,..

The rapid test is less accurate.

My wife is also a teacher. They're basically having a normal school year, except they have to wear masks and use hand sanitizer.

And constantly have to wipe down literally everything in between every class period. And have large groups of kids missing from having to quarantine after being exposed to various cases. And teaching online kids AND in person kids simultaneously.

And constantly fearing that youre going to contract the virus from some kid who doesnt wanna wear a mask, or simply getting it from being stuck in the hallway during a passing period when there are hundreds of kids jammed shoulder to shoulder trying to get to their next class.

But ya otherwise totally a normal year...

Yeah. Lot of unnecessary stress. But we're in a red state where covid is a hoax.

The teaching profession has never taken care of their teachers. The US education system was already in shambles before the pandemic, but COVID has put the final nails in the coffin.

youd think it would be worth it just for contact tracing if they really want to keep schools open though, instead of having to quarantine everyone for 2 weeks

Most admin in school districts DONT want to keep schools open though. Most schools are being forced open from the state.
