It's with different characters, and most of the time is from side stuff. If you want to just breeze through 2B's part, you can.

I'm going straight through the main missions. Would skip dialogue and cut scenes but I'm afraid I'll miss some stuff

Yeah 9S's melee moves suck. I was upset that a half of route C is 9S. I think it's worth it for some of the extra content though.

Route C is entirely new and not a retread, so at least going through 9S's playthrough has a decent enough reward to it.

Get the spear of the usurper from the desert side quest and then upgrade it to level 4. If you hold the attack button 9s will charge and then throw the spear and if you hit an enemy at level 4 it will automatically convert him to an ally. The spear also has piercing so it will hit all the enemies in a row and not just stop at the first one period
