And I don't see how it's entitled to think that someone who had 7 songs charting simultaneously at the time the award was given out should win it over a band that hasn't had 7 hits in their career

The "Best New Artist" category is really flawed, and it's stupid as hell that Bon Iver was considered "new" at that point. At the same time, Nicki's music has never been good outside of the occasional track (most notably "Beez in the Trap"), and her argument basically boils down to "I was successful, therefore I should have won". Which is one of the worst arguments people make in the music world.

The problem with what she said, aside from thinking Bon Iver is one person, is that she is the WORST when it comes to working with these people she has "inspired".

She beefs with her OGs who paved the way for her.
She beefs with her YGs who were "inspired" by her.

The only young women rappers she has worked with have been Meg (because she's the hottest act out right now) and Doja (who has her some alarming issues in regards to black people and black identity).

Nicki has always been arrogant but the fact of the matter is all she did was make music and have hits. That's not enough if you want to claim you have what she is claiming. You actually need to help foster that generation. Wayne can say it because he's actually worked with the artists he helped inspire. Same for Drake.

But Nicki? She's been toxic to literally every woman rapper since she started. You can't inspire a generation when your whole career has been shitting on your elders, contemporaries, and young ones.
