That's fair, but don't let it just sit there for too long. At a certain point you gotta say "fuck it" and start writing it down, or you might lose it.

far better man than me. A GOOD day for me is like 3 pages. How do you usually outline?
I found that for myself, super strict outlining usually just bogs me down and makes it so I end up not really writing anything. I do one fairly comprehensive plot outline, outline my characters and setting, and then just dive right into the first draft. As long as I have a solid idea of where I want the plot to go, I find it comes off a lot more natural to go ahead and start on the actual screenplay itself and let the characters evolve on their own as you write, but that's just me.

I've done a bunch of short film screenplays this year, but have really been slacking when it comes to features. I have one feature finished so far, although even that one still needs a bit more tidying up despite being on the 4th draft, and now the one I just started.

That's fair; I realized a long time ago that prose writing isn't for me; screenplay format just fits my style a lot better, and I generally prefer fictional narratives to non-fiction.

I have four pages of major plot points written down. But it's kind of bad, and I kind of want to go in a different direction with it. I'm still trying to figure things out about it before I start writing it.

If it's a story you were passionate enough about to get that much prep work for, don't second guess yourself. There's been a couple of projects where I really liked the idea, but then felt the outline was iffy; I reworked the outline, and then started actually writing, and it ended up turning out to be something I was really proud of.

All 14 pages of it are done (single spaced). Right now it's about 3 hours long, so I'd like to cut it down to about 2.

I mostly write dramas, although I'm currently working on my first horror screenplay. I like me some dark edgy shit in most of my writing lol.

Defenitly give it a try if you're interested in it. The screenplay format just clicks with me a lot better than prose. With prose I always feel like I'm rushing to come up with filler words to fit the format, but with screenplays all you need is the words to describe what will be on the screen and that's it. No extra bullshit. It's great.

I will say that the benefit of prose is once you write it, you can get people to read it straight away and it's basically a finished product whenever you feel satisfied with it. Especially now that self-publishing is a lot easier than it used to be. With screenplays, even when you're done writing them, you still have to get them actually produced.

I can kind of see what you mean but at the same time, you don't have to be verbose like Tolkien just because you're writing in prose? Simple and straight forward can be okay too. That said glad you found your home with screenplays.
