I didn't read any of them til either late 2005 or early 2006.

Then I read all of them within a short time. I read Order of the Phoenix in 3 days time.

I got Deathly Hollows the day of release (not midnight) and finished it within 24 hours. <_<

Yeah, we read the first two in school and I got to the rest on my own. The last one came out in 07 when I finished high school.

The first movie got me in to the books. Then i read all the books and hated the movies. Well 1-4 were ok but 5-7 were atrocious.

I was obsessed with them for a time as a kid and stayed that way through Goblet of Fire. During Goblet of Fire I distantly remember the characters beginning to annoy me and the plot getting more and more serious both on the teen melodrama and the people-dying front, and it just sort of lost me. I've never read past it though I've seen parts of the later movies.

I first read the series right when goblet of fire came out. Man I liked those books. I reread them all so many times before order of the Phoenix came out. I really liked that one, too.

I did finish the series but I didn't think half blood prince was very good and the last one was bad

I reread different chapters of HBP so much I destroyed the paperback spine lol

Yes. HP7 was actually the last book that I read.

I didn't read them until the last book came out.

Since then I've read them through several times, and I have an in progress read through with my kiddo, with the illustrated editions. A chapter a night before bed.

Fantastic series, but I think Percy Jackson is a much better book series that does the similar premise in a superior way.

Exactly this. I stopped reading halfway through Goblet and ended up seeing the last movie, first part iirc, in theatres

I forgot what number I stopped reading at, I did pick them back up as audio books years later, listened to them 3 or 4 times so far.

I was big into them at first, but around book 4-5 (5 was my last) I lost interest though I can't really pinpoint why. I think I just grew out of them because I think I stopped right before I started high school.
